Do you have any DJ mixes we can hear?
What’s included in your DJ Package?
Everything! These packages come with all gear rental & setup/teardown of: Sound System, Mics, Basic Party Lights package, all Music, unlimited consultations as needed throughout the planning process. No hidden or additional fees. You can always ADD additional options such as extra lighting, slideshow package, etc. Your Bay Area wedding DJ is very flexible and here to provide you with exactly what you need for your Bay Area event! We service San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley & anywhere in 200 mile radius of the Bay Area. Actually, we’ll fly to NYC or anywhere in the World for the right booking fee + flights! 🙂
How much do you charge?
Get a QUOTE and you will see. Our DJ pricing is about average of what will you find in Bay Area for professional DJ services. There might be cheaper, but be careful of the “instant DJ” with no reviews & no experience. We are one of the most reasonable priced professional DJ companies in the greater Bay area. Why book a Bay Area Beats DJ?

You will need a DJ to trigger all your special songs (first dance, cake cutting, etc) & an iPhone playlist would just set you up for possible disasters. Now I’m not saying it’s impossible to get away with, but extremely tough. Volumes of songs differ, when to trigger songs at exact moments, all require a skilled DJ. Why do some DJ’s charge so little for their services?
- They don’t offer real professional DJ services. This could mean that they just began DJ’ing, are using home stereo equipment, have limited music collection, no back-up equipment, limited planning & coordination experience, limited customer service skills. All of these factors could lead to major problems for your special event! If your DJ is only charging $500usd or under, chances are they are a newbie. Be warned.
- Most DJs have very little experience. Many so called “DJ’s” just began learning the trade & think they can just play any songs on their laptop & charge professional rates as a mobile DJ.
This could lead to a disaster at your event if they run into any of the many issues that could surface: volume spikes, electrical/hardware issues, software issues, not knowing how to setup microphones properly without feedback, etc. - Some DJs are subcontracting your event. Be careful when booking your DJ in knowing what you are getting. Ask them if they will be your DJ. Ask them how many DJ’s are in their company?
- How much is your DJ worth? The average US wedding costs $20,000usd. For the San Francisco Bay area, the average is about $30,000usd. The DJ is responsible for 75% of the success of your reception party. Doesn’t it make sense that your DJ should get paid in proportion for offering so many services: gear rental for sound/lighting/dj gear, microphones & providing coordination for speeches & toasts, making the party happen!

Are you insured?
Yes. Bay Area Beats DJs have a full liability insurance policy with a coverage value of $2,000,000. More then enough for all Bay Area venues. We are happy to provide you or your venue with a copy of our insurance policy upon request.
What kind of music do you have in your collection?
Bay Area Beats DJs have an enormous library of music encompassing all genres, including international music. You can choose between huge collections of Oldies, Rock, Pop, Latin, Indian, Country, Blues, Hawaiian, Reggae & all styles of Electronic Dance music & then some! We carry an extensive music selection to cater to any occasion, with over 65,000 songs to choose from! We update our collection constantly, making sure we have all the current hits. We can play any request, guaranteed!
Do you have a microphone we can use?
Yes. Two wireless mics are provided at no extra cost for all packages.
How would you explain your style of DJ’ing?
Our DJ’s have a professional “cheese-free” approach to MC’ing & are skilled at mixing tracks. Bay Area Beats DJs take pride in not “over-talking” on the mic, but just making the appropriate announcements the clients want. We specialize in keeping the dance floor going without too many interruptions on the mic.
Do you offer additional services?
At Bay AreaBeats DJs, we focus on what we know best: a DJ providing sound systems & music for your event. If live musicians are your preference, we’re glad to refer you to the area’s most talented bands, guitarists, solo/duet artists & more. As for lighting, we can provide simple to medium setups, but we strongly feel that bigger lighting setups require a separate lighting company with skilled lighting technicians.
Do you offer a Slideshow video package?
Yes. Bay Area Beats DJs offers slideshow packages as well.
How involved are you in choosing the music playlist?
The simple answer is: as much as you would like us to be! You will have the ability to completely customize your playlists for the DJ to spin & weave his magic. It is highly recommended that clients give us some of their favorite artists, songs & a genres of music they would like. From there, we can can design a playlist for you based on those tastes. Some clients prefer to give us an exact playlist of songs & let our DJ’s do the mixing. It’s really up to you. The important thing is that everybody will be dancing & therefore that you choose music for all of your guests various tastes.
How do payments & deposits work?
A $300 deposit by Paypal or mailed check fully secures your date. The remaining balance owed is due by the end of the event. The invoice & contract can be returned by email or mail with your signature. This retainer reserves and guarantees the services of Bay Area Beats DJs for your event.
We’re also having a live band. Can they plug into your system?
Yes, small to medium bands no problem. We provide a mixer for them to plug their instrument cables into. We can provide a sound technician to help with the volumes & various adjustments.
Do you take requests?
Always. We DJ to please the crowd, not ourselves. Nevertheless…when the crowd is happy, we are happy!
Who will be the DJ?
There are currently six DJ’s on the team of Bay Area Beats DJ’s. All are award winning wedding DJs that have also played many company events, private parties, clubs, bar mitzvahs & have hundreds of events under their belt!
Rest assured, they will get your party bumpin’!
What are your needs at our venue?
We require standard power outlets to plug our equipment into, within 100 feet of where the DJ will be set up. We provide our own table with black or white linens, but if you require special colors, you will need to bring the décor. One chair & one meal also required.
What kind of equipment do you use?
We use state of the art new QSC Series speakers, Mackie Mixers, Vestax DJ Mixers & other name brands of great sounding audio gear. Shure Wireless microphones are always provided, and wireless speakers are available if needed by the venue (they are great for outdoor ceremony sites where there is no power).
